Is it possible to replace the graphics card on my Toshiba Satellite A200-1GH notebook?

by on August 4, 2011

Q: Dear geeks,
According to the tip on your site and some others, the dedicated graphics card on several notebooks might be replaceable.
And my question is: Is it possible to replace it with at least a little more powerful one? And which one would that be?

I have a Toshiba satellite A200-1GH notebook with discrete nVidia 7300Go gaphics card. This computer served me faithfully for years and I’m really not keen on the idea of getting rid of the old reliable buddy.

Sorry, you’re not going to be able to upgrade your video card. You might be able to replace it (as in with the exact same part) if it goes bad, but that’s about it.

Here is a nice article on the topic: http://bit.ly/qqJ6CK

I’m still not sure it is impossible because the Toshiba company isn’t mentioned in the list at all. And that is kinda weird.
I can’t find my documentation on the notebook and still would like to find out exactly which MXM number is my GeForce card.
