Is there a way to order a list of words alphabetically and remove duplicates?
by equayonv on September 8, 2011Q: I am writing a English to Cherokee word translation book. I have many lists of words that need to be inserted alphabetically. Many of the words are included in every list and do not need to be repeated. Is there a software program available that can assist me with this as I am not computer savvy?

Microsoft Excel works well in this situation.
Here are some instructions on how to find and remove duplicates in excel: http://bit.ly/oZMJLZ
If you don’t own excel, you can try using the spreadsheet program in OpenOffice (which is free) http://www.openoffice.org

I also might be able to do this work for you for a fee. E-mail me at mark@askageek.com with details on the volume of words and lists you need sorted and filtered and I can provide you a price quote.
