How come I have to hold down my power button for a few seconds for my HP all-in-one computer to actually turn off?

Q: i have a hp 2052 all-in-one computer w/windows 7 and all of a sudden when i go to shut down the computer everything goes blank exept the power button stays on along with the fan. The only way to turn it off is to hold in the power button for a few seconds to shut it down.

  1.

Make sure Windows is fully up to date, also please verify your model number for the HP computer. The only HP computers I can find with that model number are the following:

    HP Pavilion dv5-2052xx
    HP Pavilion tx2052xx
    HP TouchSmart tm2-2052nr

How long are you waiting to see if the computer shuts off by itself?
