How can I get my WiFi signal from the first floor to the third floor?

Q: in our hosue the wireless router that everyone uses in the the bottom floor and unfortunately my room is on the third floor and i don’t get a very good signal from where i am at, i was wondering what i need to get or do in order to make the wireless internet strength better for me.

    You can do 1 of 2 things:

    You can set up a new wireless access point on your floor and run a cable, or similarly you can set up a wireless repeater which will clone your existing wireless and and you will have a seamless wireless connection in your house. But either way you will have to run some form of a cable to the new one.

    I have a similar situation at my home. Since I have existing Coax Cable in the house for hooking up TVs, I used a pair of these to gain what basically amounts to an Ethernet plug on my 3rd floor. From that you can either plug directly in for the best speed or also purchase a wireless access point.
