  1.

Hook a 3.5mm audio cable from your fm radio’s headphone jack to the audio-in plug on your computer.

Adjust volume and mute settings as needed

Use a program such as Audacity to record the audio: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Be sure to check the website for the radio program you’re interested in recording, many of them offer a downloadable “podcast” so you don’t need to record the program yourself.

do I play the program on my computer and record from that. or does it have to be from a different device?

Once you’ve recorded the audio of the radio program you could listen to it on your computer, or copy the audio file to a different device.
