How do I add a pause after disabling call waiting when using dialup?

by on December 6, 2011

Q: We have to return to dialup 🙁 On the dialup page, I want to turn off call waiting before it dials the local number. I know to enter *70 but what do I input to make it pause until the dial tone comes back in a couple of seconds and then go on to dial the number?

CallWave responded to this question for me today. The character needed to cause a pause in the dialing is a comma. So I can enter it as follows: *70,,8350015 (or whatever local dialing number is. When we had dialup prior to this and used BuzMe instead of Callwave it took two commas for the proper length of pause, but it could be as little as one or as many as three, in order for the dial tone to restore and continue to dial the local number.
