What kind of issues could I have if I shut down my computer when it is doing an update and tells you not to shut it down?

Q: I just did an update for my computer where I have to restart and it was stuck on doing update step 2 of 3 don not shut down. Will I left it for almost 20 minutes and it was stuck so I had to turn off the power to the computer forcing a restart. When it came back up it was still doing the update and it still took a bit of time.

Okay so when I’m starting up the computer normally I usually wait a few minutes before putting my password in to move to the desktop so all the systems have a moment to load up.

Now I have had a virus before forcing me to rebuilt my whole desktop. Very annoying.

So to sum up did an update had to restart, restart wouldn’t happen. Had to do manual shutdown and here I am.
