How can I connect my Asus eeepc laptop with a broken screen to a monitor?

Q: Hi, I have an Asus eeepc wit a broken screen. How can i connect it with a monitor? i have tried it and nothing happened! please help!

    In theory you should just be able to connect the external monitor and you should get a picture. The next step is figuring out if your laptop will do a mirrored setup or an expanded desktop setup.

    Hopefully your system just goes into mirror configuration where what shows on your laptop screen shows on the external monitor. If not then you will have to hope that you have a function key that will allow you to change to mirror mode.

    The reason being in mirror mode is important is because you need to be able to see the default screen or else you wont have access to your start button/programs. You would just end up with a blank screen. If you need help you might want to bring your system down to a local professional that might be able to help a little more. Just let them know you want to use your laptop with an external monitor and you do not want to replace the laptop monitor.
