Can I get any benefit from installing a graphics card and using the dedicated one on the motherboard?

by on January 27, 2012

Q: I have an AMD A6-3650 APU with Radeon HD 6530D integrated, my question is, if I install a dedicated graphics card like the GTX550 ti, will I get the benefit of having these two GPU or the integrated graphics will just be ignored in favor of the dedicated card? Thanks in advance.

The integrated graphics will just be ignored in favor of the dedicated card.

Usually the internal card is ignored for the dedicated card that has been installed. If you are looking to do dual monitors you can usually hook two monitors into that one card and configure them both to work.
