How come the Internet on my laptop stops working suddenly when I am connected to DSL but not wireless?

Do you mean if you connect it via a wire to your DSL it stops working? If so what do you mean by “it stops working”? Does the internet stop working or does the computer itself freeze?
We need a lot more details to be able to even think about helping.
