Is it possible to find my email passwords that I forgot in my registry?

by on February 4, 2012

Q: I had forgotten certain passwords from other emails that I own and did not leave a followup email to remember. I was told that if I had typed it in, that my computer stores it in a place in the system. I have no clue as to get into that. I was told there is a “backdoor” in every system to locate information.

I just want to know where I can find the “backdoor” in my system so that I can check for myself.

My operating system is windows 7 64bit. HP touchsmart.

What are the steps I need to locate my information?

You will not find email passwords in your registry. I don’t believe any email program stores them there. You are better off contacting your ISP and having them reset the password.

so can you recomment a good keylogger program that works with windows 7 so whatever I type gets stored in my system?

I have no experience using keyloggers so unfortunately I cannot recommend anything. A simple google search should result in many options though.
