How come my laptop will not get past the Toshiba boot screen after I dropped it?

Q: Our Toshiba Satalit L350-20F was dropped. Externally it seems fine. No damage. No strange sounds when turning it on eother. It starts. It’s a Toshiba satalite laptop. When starting it it goes to the Toshiba leading…screen than to a blank black page for several minutes but ends up back on the Toshiba screen. It doesnt seem to load anything ??? I think. Anyone got any idea what to do? Dont have any disks to re-install anything. Any ideas will help. 🙂

When you dropped the computer was it running or turned off?
Even though the computer may seem to be running correctly there are many things internally that could have been damaged especially if the computer was turned on when it was dropped. I would recommend the following.

    – If the computer is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer and try to warranty the laptop. They will have you run some diagnostics to see if they can narrow down to what part has failed. Try NOT to tell them that you dropped the computer.
    – If it is out of warranty – Look in the bios or during bootup sometimes these computers will have built in diagnostics to help you determine what part/parts are failing.
