How can I get the webcam and sound working on my Dell Studio 1537 with Windows 7 when it originally came with Windows Vista?

Q: I bought a laptop from a pawn shop a few months ago, it is a dell studio 1537, it came with Windows Vista, but the pawn shop upgraded to 7. I have no sound when im on the internet, and my webcam does not work, i didnt think i had a webcam, but the other day it just cut on and started working, now it will not work again, what do i do? PLEASE HELP

    you can try reinstalling the audio and webcam drivers from the dell site.

    support.dell.com and look up by your service tag.

    If Windows 7 drivers are not listed Windows Vista drivers are almost always backwards compatible.

    On another concern I might mention is that your computer should not have the webcam turn on by itself at all. If this is something you find happening I would check software running and installed and maybe consider reloading your workstation yourself or by an IT professional if you are uncomfortable or do not have media.
