Q: Does the Windows 7 Event Viewer Security information shows accurately the time and date that someone logged in on the computer? Or is it unreliable?

Thank you.

  1.

The date and time that the Windows 7 event viewer shows is what is in the logs. The logs will work off the date/time of the computer. So as long as the date/time of the computer was correct then in theory these should be correct.

It is possible to get in the logs and screw with the date/time but it isn’t easy and you would have to do a lot of changes to make sure everything else after it matched up as well.

So I would say that unless someone knew what they were doing then the date/time is trustworthy.
