How do I stop webroot from putting an icon on my desktop?
by Redd Vision on March 13, 2012Q: Whenever I restart or turn off (then on) my computer, my Webroot software automaticallly puts up an icon on my desktop. So I always have to delete it and put it into my recycling bin (I don’t want a crowded desktop). How do I change Webroot’s settings so that the Webroot icon will no longer show up on my desktop? Thank you so much!
I don’t see anyone else talking about this problem, I’d suggest you do the following:
1. Make sure Webroot is fully up to date
2. If you’re still having a problem, open a support ticket with Webroot http://www.webroot.com/En_US/support-wsa-products.html

Hi,
You can stop the icon from appearing on your desktop by opening the main SecureAnywhere UI, select the “Settings” link on the left side and then remove the check next to “Show a Webroot icon on the Desktop” and then click the “Save All” button.
Hope this helps.
