How come when I search on Yahoo or Google I get redirected to Happili instead?
by Longlakepat on March 15, 2012Q: Recently…when I’m doing a search in either Yahoo or Google a site called Happili.com seems to “hijack” the request and direct it to their site. How can I block this site or others like it. Using
Windows XP Pro on a conventional Lenovo tower
speaker. Thanks so much.
What anti-virus/anti-malware software do you have installed?

Make sure it’s fully up to date, and run a complete system scan.
What web browser are you running?

Thanks for providing this additional information.
Please download and run SuperAntiSpyware:
http://www.superantispyware.com/
Also, make sure Internet Explorer isn’t running through a proxy:
Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab -> Lan Settings > uncheck “use a proxy server” and check to “Automatically detect settings”. ok and apply.
I also strongly suggest you move to a different browser such as Google Chrome for a safer internet experience.
