How do I find a Microsoft Word document I saved on a school computer?

Q: Hello. My name’s Chloe. I’m a student who utilized a university dorm computer (PC) to write a paper. The computer mandates that I log in with my student ID. So I logged on, and proceeded to write my essay in a new Word document, saving it every few minutes. I left briefly, only to return and find that the computer had logged itself off. I logged back on and could not find the Word file I had worked on. Is there any possible way to retrieve the file?

    The easiest way is to do a search for that file.

    If the PC is running windows 7 press the start button and in the field at the bottom start typing your file name.

    If the Pc is running Windows XP press the start button and then press search and use the new windows to search for your file.

    Hopefully this will help you out.
