    The answer is yes you can but realize that Brother printers are different than most printers in that in most cases the print head is built into the printer itself and not into the cartridge. If you clog up the print head, which can sometimes happen with less expensive ink, you are looking at it costing a good amount of money to get fixed. It usually ends up costing less to just buy a new printer so you need to be careful.

    I point this out because some printers come with print heads on the print cartridge. This means if you get cheap ink the worst thing that usually happens is it leaks all over the place and you end up having to clean up a mess but a new cartridge comes with a new print head so you are fine.

    Less expensive ink usually isn’t a problem if you use it quickly but if you don’t print more than a few times a week then you could have problems. I would make sure to read reviews before making the purchase because it could end up costing you more in the end.
