Q: Can I buy a cord to connect my Wii to my laptop as a work around for not having a router? I’m not able to connect to a free wifi. maybe a wii adapter or lan adapter?

    You can buy an ethernet cross over cable that will connect from your Wii to your computer. You would then need to setup a proxy server on your machine to be able to get the data from your Wii out to the Internet.

    The other downside to this is your computer would have to be on for you to use your Wii on the Internet.

    I suggest just spending $50 on a router since the cable is probably going to cost you around $15 anyway.
