There are several things that you can try to may help speed up your PC.

    1. Run a disk cleanup. (Start menu, click run, type ‘cleanmgr.exe’ and hit ok.)
    2. Defrag your computer. (Start menu, click run, type ‘dfrg.msc’ and hit ok. Select your primary HDD and press the defrag button, may take several hours.)
    3. Remove unused programs from your computer.(Start Menu, control panel, add/remove programs.)
    4. Run spyware scans (Tools like Super Anti Spyware and Malwarebytes are free.)
    5. Remove unwanted startup programs. (Start Menu, Run, msconfig, choose startup box and deselect what you do not want to start up. Becare this can had adverse effects if you are not sure what you are doing.)
    6. Power down and unplug PC. Remove cover from side. With a can of compressed air clean out any dust. do not shake the can so liquid sprays. Spray air into the power supply as well.

For an inexpensive hardware upgrade you can upgrade your memory as well. usually costing anywhere from $30-$100.
