Is it safe to use a scanner that has been in storage for the last 2 years?

Q: Hi there. I have a hp scanner. I got it in 2007. Ever since my main pc crashed and completely died, It has been in storage ever since.

Now that I have a much more stable laptop, I have decided to pull it out again.
It has been in storage for 2 years. Is it safe to plug it into the wall and activate and use it normally? I’m just worried about it exploding in my face when I go to turn it on. thanks.

There should be no problem plugging it in and using it. The only problem you may experience is if dust got into the scanner. Which should be sealed completely and not have any problems.

If you are running windows 7 you may want to check the manufacturers website to see if it is compatible.
