Why is there a csv event file generated in MyDocuments?

by on June 28, 2012

Q: a .csv file is being generated in MyDocuments every day with en event logged every hour. The file name is MYCOMPUTERNAME_Myusername_2012_6_27. it has 200 lines in each file and has generated one a day since may 30th. almost all of the events are identical with a few exceptions

#Event,Source,Time,Error Severity,Domain,User,Description
1,S24EvMon,05/31/2012 17:32:05,Information,AppDriver,SYSTEM,No adapter found.

I looked through reports in administrative tools – event viewer, performance monitor but nothing seems related.

I just want to know what is generating these reports–what is trying to access what adapter and why, and what should I do about it?

I’m going to take a shot in the dark here but do you have an Intel Wired/Wireless NIC installed in your computer? If so is there any Intel Driver Package software that is running in the background? Be sure to check your system process and services as well.
Also, Check device manager to verify and make sure that the drivers are installed properly for your Ethernet Connections.
Let me know if this resolves your issue or not, I’m curious to know what the issue was.

      I would agree with fletcha…

It’s from Intel PROset/Wireless Wifi Software install. There should be an Intel PROset/Wireless folder under All Programs, else navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\WirelessCommon. This information is from my Windows7 os. Other os’s may have different folders.
