Is there anyway to restore my 4th generation iPod when the home button is broken?

Q: so i have an ipod 4g that i bought second hand so theres no warranty and my friends bf is a dick and diabled it for 22,263,652 minutes by putting in the wrong passcode too much now normally id just put it in dfu and restore to a saved backup however my home button also recently decided to quit working so i have a disabled ipod with a broken home button how can i restore it? also it wont connect to itunes because i had a passcode on it and i cant put in the passcode because its disabled!

    Since it is a hardware issue with your iPod at this point I would bring it to an apple store if possible, If not then contact them via telephone. If they say that they cannot do anything for you I have found a couple of postings online of what people have done to try to fix this but keep in mind that if you perform some of these “Fixes” it could break your device for good so proceed at your own risk. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1969583?start=0&tstart=0 .
