Can I upgrade my computer running Windows XP to Windows 7?

by on July 9, 2012

Q: I have a Dell Inspirion Mini 10, running on XP. It is very slow so trying to copy everything onto an external hard drive. I would like to update the windows XP to windows 7 but i am not sure if it will make the notebook slow or if it can take a bigger operating system?

  1.

Depending on the Mini 10 is should be able to take Windows 7. We did this to a friends Mini 10 no problem and he had 4GB of memory and 120GB HDD.

You will have to perform a clean install which will wipe all of your settings. If you post more info about your system I can give you an exact answer. (memory, HDD size) or you can always run the windows 7 upgrade advisor as well and it will give you an answer.
