How do I get more than one device connected to my network if I only have a single ethernet connection?

Q: I run an ethernet cable up to my room from the family’s router which is in the basement of the house. I would like to be able to split that ethernet cable that goes to my room into two connections. How do I do this? Do I buy an splitter or a switch?

  1.

You’ll need to buy an Ethernet Switch.
