How do we disable shortcuts or hotkeys for muting a computers speakers?

by on December 3, 2012

Q: My bosses computer must have some hotkeys / shortcuts set to mute her speakers. Whenever she capitalizes certain letters or types certain things like Shift+F and “Short”, the music turns off.

We can’t figure out how to fix it so there are no shortcuts that can mute her speakers.

I look forward to your solution. Thanks!

Are these built in speakers part of a laptop, if so, please note the make and model number.

I’m guessing there is some kind of manufacturer specific software installed that allows for custom keyboard shortcuts that are muting the audio. If you can figure out what background program is causing this, you might be able to shut down/uninstall that program and solve the problem.

      Hi mark,

The speakers (Logitech) are plugged in to the desktop computer. The computer does not have built in speakers.

      Thanks.
