What kind of converter do I need to use my xbox 360 on my all in one computer monitor?

by on December 3, 2012

Q: I recently bought a Dell xps 27 all in one and would like to hook up my xbox 360 to it. Their does not seem to be a simple cable hook up and from what I have read I might need some type of converter. I’m looking for specific components I need to play my xbox 360 on my all in one computer screen. Any help towards my goal is appreciated and welcome?

The Dell XPS 27 all in one appears to have an HDMI-In port according to the tech specs on Dell’s website.

Your xbox360 might have an HDMI port built right in. If so, just buy any old HDMI cable and plug it in. Otherwise if you have an older (Pre 2007) 360 without an HDMI port, you’re probably going to have a hard time.

Mad Katz did make a HDMI conversion kit for the 360, but I can’t find anyone selling it right now.

You might be able to use this Component to HDMI converter box: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011404&p_id=7110&seq=1&format=2 but it’s $50.

At that point you’re probably better off grabbing a used 360 with an HDMI port.
