Will the components I want to put into my new computer work?
by kobster_98 on December 10, 2012Q: I would like to know if this build would work:
Motherboard = GIGABYTE GA-H61M-DS2 LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
processor = AMD Athlon II x4 640
Ram = PNY Optima MD4096KD3-1333 4GB Dual Channel Kit DDR3 1333 MHz PC3-10666 Desktop DIMM Memory Kit
Graphics card = Sapphire 11201-00-20G Radeon HD 7770 GHZ 1GB DDR5 HDMI / DVI-I / Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card
Hard Drive = Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA III 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive – WD5000AAKX
Power Supply = Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500w Power Supply
And what fan could i use that’s cheap but affective?
Do i need an ssd?
I hope that’s everything
No, that CPU will not work with that motherboard. You’ve selected a motherboard that works with Intel processors using a LGA1155 socket.
The AMD processor you’ve mentioned won’t fit.
When you’ve selected a motherboard, the motherboard manufacturer will list CPUs and memory that will work with the motherboard. You can view these lists on the manufactuer’s website. Here they are for the motherboard you’re interested in: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3970#ov
No, an SSD is not required for your computer to work.
If you’re asking about a CPU fan, assuming your buying the retail box version of the CPU, it will probably come with a CPU fan. Check the product description.
