How do I install Windows XP on my Dell Dimension E520 when it keeps putting me at the command prompt?

Q: replaced hard drive in my Dimension E520. Now I am getting the command prompt. Need to install drivers and Windows XP. Have the disks but can’t get past command prompt.

    Hi Imboxcar – this should be a fairly easy process….

    1. Be sure that your XP CD is a bootable disk and place it in the CD Drive.
    2. Power the Computer off.
    3. Power the computer back on and keep tapping the F12 key on the keyboard. This will bring you to a prompt that will ask you what you would like to boot from.
    4. Boot from the CD/DVD drive, You may get a prompt that says to “Press any key to boot from bootable media” or something like that, Be sure you press any key to boot the the CD Rom Disk.
    5. Continue Windows XP setup menu.
