Q: Can i get a router that will capture or log text messages or chats form cell phones logged onto my wifi?

    I’m sure that there is equipment out there that may be able to help you find this information but there is not anything readily available.
    Text Messages do not go through your regular WiFi connection (as far as I know with ATT/Verizon).
    Chats such as Gchat may go through wifi while connected but keep in mind, If the user is using an application that connects over SSL when you look at these packets they will look like a bunch of random characters because they are encrypted.

    I’ll back up fletcha here. Chat stuff is generally encrypted or won’t go over the WiFi network.
