How come I get a text list when I hover over an image on my Windows 7 taskbar instead of images of the pages?

Q: On my Win 7 taskbar when hovering over the apps I used to get an image of the page. Now I get just a text list. How do I go back to the images and how to change the look of the taskbar too. TIA

    Hey Cardhu,
It sounds like you may have possibly changed a theme recently or a setting got changed. Try the following.

Make sure that Windows AERO is Enabled:

    1. Right click on the start button and go to Properties.
    2. Click on the “Taskbar” tab, There should be a check box to enable Windows Aero.

If this is checked and you’re still experiencing the issue please tell me a little bit more about your system.
    - Make/Model (Ex Dell Dimension 220)
    - Age of computer
    - Version of Windows 7 that you are running (Home, Professional, etc..)

    The Aero box is checked.
The change happened when Microsoft did their latest update for Win 7, approx 26Feb13, and restarted the box. It’s custom, with an AMD Phenom II X6 1045 2.7 GHz processor, 8 GB RAM, 120 GB SSD, running Win 7 Ultimate. This problem is not a big deal by any means but it is annoying. Thanks for your assistance.

Have you changed your theme around? Try to change the windows Theme to one of the default built in themes and reboot. See if this fixes the issue. If it is already set to a default built-in theme, Try to change which one your using and then reboot. If this does not work, I’ll continue searching…
