Q: how do i get windows vista to detect an external keyboard and how do use vista when i close the laptop lid?

    Hi Dyner,
    To get your Vista laptop to recognize your keyboard you should really only need to plug it into a USB port. (Assuming it is USB).
    If this is a Fancy bluetooth wireless keyboard there may be more involved such as syncing the keyboard with your computer and confirming that your computer has built in bluetooth capabilities. If it is more than a wired USB keyboard I would go online and download drivers for the device. If you can provide me more information about the keyboard I can help you further in this aspect.

    Regarding using the Laptop with the lid closed, you need to ensure that you have an external monitor connected and functioning. Usually if this is the case then when you close the lid it will transfer the image over to the external monitor. Have you been able to get your computer to work with an external monitor?
