Does it matter that the antenna cable on my HDTV is broken?

Q: RCA HDTV broken antenna cable outlet on back of TV. Is this important?

Considering that all cable is now digital (at least where I live – Alberta) does this matter? Wouldn’t a wireless router completely by pass using a cable cord? Not the most technical person and anyone who has knowledge on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ivan

Ivan – This is only important if you do not subscribe to a regular Cable television service. In most cases the antenna outlet is to view stations/channels that are broadcasted over the air. With everything digital now you would usually feed the digital cable signal into your television over RCA/HDMI now anyways. I do not think that this is a big deal unless you are receiving analog television signals.
