Can I use a graphics card that requires 300 watts and 16 amps with a power supply that is 300 watts and 15 amps?

Q: My desktop PC has a 300 watt power supply with a +12 Volt current rating of 15 Amps.

Can I use a new video graphics card with a requirement of a 300 Watt power supply and a minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 16 Amps?

  1.

Not all supplies are created equal, and it depends on what the rest of your computer is like as well.

You might want to consider moving up to a better power supply, also consider e-mailing the video card manufacturer with full details of your PSU and as for their opinion.
