What is the easiest way to move files from my internal hard drive to my external hard drive?

Q: I moved 14,000 music files; 42GB from c drive to an external hard drive, because the files were using up too much hard drive on the lap top.
I am changing the file path by clicking the file on the hard drive and letting it play for a minute in the scaled back media player. Then I open media player on the desktop and the music is there.
As you can see I have a lot of files to transfer. Is there a better and faster way I can do this? i.e. Does Media player allow or have a way to change the file path to where it finds the music file, or is this the only way. Thanks, Nancy (sick of carving granite) 🙂

    You can just change where Windows Media Player’s library looks for your music. It can then rescan all your music for the library:
