How do I fix a blue screen with error code 0x0000009f?
by victorsj87 on May 29, 2013Q: I have an HP Pavilion dv7636nr. I am getting a blue screen error code every time I either try to restart the laptop or shut it down. The screen stays black for a while then pops that blue screen up with the error code 0x0000009f. I have no clue how to fix this. If you have a solution I would surely appreciate it. Thanks
Victor – What version of windows are you running? It looks like this is a driver issue but can be caused when your computer goes into hibernation. Lets try a few things to try to get you back up and running.
1. Power off the computer.
2. Unplug the power plug from the computer.
3. Unplug any USB Devices such as Printer/Scanner/USB Thumb drives/etc from the computer.
4. Make sure the only USB devices that ARE plugged in are your mouse and keyboard.
5. Plug the computer back in.
6. Power the computer back on.
let me know if it boots up like that or you continue to run into issues. If so we can continue troubleshooting from there.
