If I type a letter on a computer and never save it is the letter saved on the computer automatically?

Q: If one types a letter on the computer and does not save it (basically uses as a typewriter) then shuts the computer down, is the letter saved on the hard drive?

  1.

This depends on what program and version you’re using to write the letter. Microsoft Word for example will often auto-save drafts.

If you want to write something and have no copy of it saves on the computer, I’d suggest launching Notepad, writing your letter, printing it, and quitting notepad without saving the document.
