Game Requires i5-2500k 3.3GHz Will My i5-6400 2.7 GHz Work?

by on July 5, 2018

Q: I’m trying to compare my system to the minimum requirements that a game I’m thinking about buying requires. Generally, I’ve just looked at the GHz and memory requirements but know that’s not a complete answer. The game requires at least i5-2500k 3.3GHz. My system is an i5-6400 but is only 2.7 GHz. It doesn’t seem like it would work but does the difference between -2500k and -6400 make up for the lower GHz? Any tips on how to compare would be appreciated

  1.

If your system has exactly what the minimum system requirements are then you probably aren’t going to have a ton of fun playing the game esp if it is a game that has a lot of quick action like racing games or shooters.

With that said the i5-6400 should do better than the i5-2500k even though the clock speed is a little slower. How was I able to determine this? I did it by doing a little searching and reviewing the information at http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/489/Intel_Core_i5_i5-2500K_vs_Intel_Core_i5_i5-6400.html

Without knowing what game it is I can tell you that you’re still at the bottom of the system requirements though so you should be able to play the game but again if it is a shooter or racing game you’re probably going to get frustrated.
