Q: I have used both Outlook and Outlook Express for email in the past. I am trying to get back the deleted messages on each of these programs looking for a deleted message I need info from. How do I and can I retrieve the deleted messages after they have been removed from my trash folder?
Q: I have a calender in Outlook 2007 for the year of 2009. I want to shift all the appointments from 2009 to 2010 and I don’t wanna write them back day by day because it will take me at least 2 weeks that way. Is there a way to shift all the events from 2009 to 2010?
Q: I have Mozilla FireFox set as my default web browser and when I click a URL in a Word Document I get an error message from Word saying “Unable to open [URL]. Cannot locate the Internet server or proxy server.” Word does not even try to open Mozilla FireFox it just tells me that it cannot open the URL. Is there anyway I can fix this?
A: This is one of those great Windows/Word features where if you don’t have Internet Explorer set as your default browser then you are going to have to either set Internet Explorer to be your default browser or do a tweak to your registry that I don’t suggest most people do. Read Question HereQ: I’ve been reading up on different solutions to the French spellchecker in Outlook Express after loading Office 2007, such as downloading a dictionary from an outside source, or reloading OE 2003. Does anyone know how these solutions affect existing dictionaries? I do medical transcription and have a medical spellchecker loaded. I can’t lose that. Also, if I reload OE from Office 2003, will I have to start over to set up my identity and lose all the contacts and mail I have on there now?
Q: If I quick-save an e-mail attachment and then I delete the email, where will I find the attachment? I have looked in the temporary files and in program files for Outlook Express but I have had no luck in finding the e-mail or attachment. Any ideas?
Q: When I forward inline pictures from Outlook Express, there is a blank square at the other end. I have tried different recipients, and no one is receiving the pictures. I have checked the settings in Outlook, but I did not find anything that would prevent the sending of the pictures. I am using AVG antivirus with Windows XP, but there are no settings that I can find that would cause the problem.

Q: I am using Windows XP and I use AOL for my e-mails.
Is it possible to retrieve my AOL e-mails from the last 6 months? (To make matters worse, some of the emails I am trying to retrieve were deleted.) I know there are programs you can buy and I’m not opposed to that if I know it will work. I looked in your information and found one that allows you to see the recovery list before purchasing but it was for Outlook, not AOL and retrieved nothing.
Q: I am a medical transcriptionist. I work for 2 companies and am using their equipment. I would like to buy a laptop and use that instead (for both companies). It does not have to be the lightest weight laptop available, just light enough so it’s possible to take it places – on an airplane for example. I don’t think the lightest ones would be enough for this kind of work anyway.
For each company, the minimum requirements are 1 gig of memory and 40 gigs of hard drive space. So, 2 gigs memory, 80 gigs hard drive at least.
I needs to be XP, cannot use Vista.
This is what needs to be stored on the computer: Medical transcription software (about 4 different programs). These are Word-based programs.
Also word expander programs (e.g. Shorthand). Also Outlook Express (most communication with the companies is done by e-mail).
I use VPN connections to do this work.
Some other things:
I need to connect to high-speed Internet access. Not dial-up.
I need to be able to plug a regular keyboard and mouse into the computer as the small keyboard that comes with a laptop would be hard to use for this work (it’s constant typing for 8 hour shifts).
Most of the time, I won’t want to run it on the battery. I don’t want to work on an airplane, outside, etc. I just want to be able to bring it with me, and use it wherever I can get high speed Internet access(hotel room, someone else’s house, etc).
There is also a foot pedal that I have to attach to the computer via USB port. I have 3 pedals but only need to use one at a time although it would be convenient not to have to switch them every time.
So I need USB’s for mouse, keyboard, and foot pedal.
Security is especially important for this work because it’s private information (medical records with people’s names, etc on them). Many MTs do this on laptops so they can be mobile.
Also, what about screen size? Can’t be too tiny or I can’t work comfortably.
I just want to use this for work, surfing net and e-mail, perhaps Microsoft Word, not for gaming.
Can you tell me what kind of laptops would suit my needs and what you would recommend?
