What file formats will the Avol ADP2500XM let me play via the USB port?

Q: I have a DVD player from avol Model #ADP2500XM. It has a USB port that allows for some movies to play on it. As far as I can tell it only lets me play a few of my collection. They all look to be AVI files but it wont play all the AVI files. Is there a specific format that will work best?

How come when I converted from MOV files to AVI files I lost the video?

Q: I downloaded some video files from my scan disk on my camera and the files went from being movie files to AVI files which only allow me to hear the movie clip and not see it. Is there anything I can do to repair this situation?
