Q: I had a Western Digital External Hard-drive that wouldn’t turn on. I bought a new case for it and now I can start up the hard drive and see everything I have saved on it. But, if I choose any sort of action, the hard-drive freezes after a few minutes and I have to turn it off. For example, I tried to copy a song folder to my desktop and it froze once it got to 90%. My time frame for doing anything is reduced every time I start it up. The data is there and intact, but I can’t do anything with it. Any advice on what I should do?
Q: I have connected a SATA Samsung HM160HI HDD to a USB device that External HDD’s use. The HDD shows up but it also shows up as an UNKOWN device and will not work. If i add a different 2.5 HDD it works. Yes the Samsung HDD is working and formated i’m just wondering what im doing wrong
Q: I have an old laptop that will only start up as far as the ‘welcome’ screen. The keyboard wont work, so I can’t type in my password, and the mouse wont work either. I want to know if there is a way for me to access the contents of the hard drive in my broken laptop and dump them onto the hard drive of my current, working one. I can’t grant remote access from my broken laptop obviously, since the keyboard/mouse doesn’t work, but I really want the pictures off of the hard drive. If there’s anything you can tell me that might help, I’d really appreciate it!
Q: When trying to get data off two hard drives(one i replaced with the other because of a failure) using an USB to IDE/SATA adapter I get message “the USB devices connected to this computer has malfunctioned and windows cannot recognize it” . The same thing is happening to the drive i know was working. Is there a fix?
Q: Is an external hard drive’s transfer rate good enough for gaming? I need to change out my hard drive for a bigger one so basically internal or external?
Q: can the files that come on an external hard drive be moved into one folder? I have a hard dirve that someone has done this and the hard drive crashed just wondered if moving all the included files to one folder caused the problem
Q: If I buy a “hard drive enclosure” so I can retrieve files from my old (mobo dead) pc to a new pc (not yet purchased), how can I distinguish between operating system, other system files, etc., and my personal files (e.g. docs, pictures, entire MS Office stuff) so that I get the “right stuff” copied onto my new pc’s C drive. Retail stores said they would do this for me for prices ranging from $80 to $150. The “hard drive enclosure” device is about $30.00
Thanks,
Q: Is it possible to install a usb 2.0 drive (anywhere) on the dell streak 7 tablet?
