How come iTunes makes copies of my songs when I play them?

by on December 16, 2012

Q: After installing itunes on my laptop, things have gotten weird. Every time I upload a song or picture, the computer randomly makes copy files for some of the media files all on its own with random names. It’s been taking up a lot of space on my laptop. How do I stop it? Should I uninstall itunes?

How come my computer will not boot after iTunes install failed and I reset the bios to defaults?

by on August 31, 2012

Q: I don’t know much about computers, so when I tried installing iTunes, and the computer completely froze, I shut it off manually, and upon restart, accidentally set all of the BIOS settings for my motherboard to defaults, now when trying to boot my computer, it gets stuck at the loading windows screen, I already tried reinstalling Windows 7.. Any suggestions?

How come upgrading to the latest iTunes killed my audio and video configurations?

by on August 24, 2011

Q: Upon updating to the latest version of iTunes the other day, it more or less killed my audio/video configuration to the point where there is no playback on any software anywhere on my laptop. I have the latest drivers for all the audio/video, have uninstalled iTunes/QuickTime: to no available. Should I uninstall all the drivers and re load them? Or pull out the battery and let the system come down? What options do I have?

Why is iTunes not picking up my podcast?

by on July 19, 2011

Q: Why is iTunes not picking up my podcast?

Feedburner tells me in PodMedic that enclosures are not being created because files are not recognised as audio/mpeg. I asked Hostmonster about this and they ran a test, and concluded the opposite: that the server is in fact returning the appropriate status.

My website is http://kidyounotpodcast.com

My feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/kidyounotpodcast/rss

My email is kidyounotpodcast@gmail.com

More details:

Feedburner PodMedic says:

Content Type reported: text/html; charset=UTF-8
Media enclosure not created because: The content type returned from your host server was a text type, not a binary media type. Podcast content should always return a binary media type, such as audio/mpeg for audio, or video/mpeg for video.

Hostmonster says:

curl is a tool that allows me to send requests to the server as if I were a browser, and see what goes on behind the scenes. The -IL uses the HEAD request to gather only the headers (and follow redirects). The curl output is in the first block. You can see that the Content-Type is being returned as audio/mpeg, it’s returning the appropriate status, and the correct content-length. Everything looks good there.

Thank you for your help!
