Is it possible to read a text file on an Xbox 360?

by on June 19, 2009

Q: Is it possible, on the xbox 360, to read a text document from a 512MB memory stick while in a game?

I was wondering because there are some games where I need a guide and my computer is in the other room. It’s just such a hassle to run back and fourth to read them.

Backing Up Data to a Flash Drive

by on January 22, 2008

Q: How can I backup my laptop on my new memory stick?

A: First you need to connect your new memory stick to your laptop via USB. Your computer will recognize the memory stick and in most cases the stick will appear on your desktop. If it does not appear on your desktop then you will need to go into My Computer, and depending on what version of Windows you are running you either have My Computer on your desktop or you have to go into Start then select My Computer. Once you are at My Computer you should see a header that says Removable Drives and under that you will see your memory stick.

Now as for backing up your entire computer that will not be possible with a memory stick because your laptop holds much more information than your memory stick possibly could. You will need to figure out what items you would like to have copied over to your memory card. You will probably want to copy your documents in My Documents, which can usually be found from the Start menu. To start the process you will want to have two windows open. You will want the memory stick window open and the My Documents window open. From here drag the files in My Documents over to your memory stick to put them on there.

I hope this helps you out and that you are now able to backup your important documents.
