Can I move my Norton software from one computer to another?

by on November 16, 2010

Q: I bought a Norton 360 V3 and loaded it on my PC and laptop plus my daughters PC aswell. It was for 3 users. Shortly after my old laptop died on me so this was a waste of one user. Am I able to uninstall it from my laptop and put it on another laptop that I have been given? I still have the disc and product key as well as 9 months remaining.
Am I able to do this, or do I have to buy a new one?

How do I access my Norton 360 backup if my email address is now invalid?

by on September 30, 2010

Q: I have used Norton 360 for the past 12 months and have just renewed by detailing a new product code. I then signed into an account using a new email address as the one I used when I installed last year is no longer valid. On my new subscription, nothing is backed up. What happens to the backed up files from my old subscription? Can I still see them or have they been deleted? If I can still see them, how do I get into the account when the email address is invalid?

How do I restore my original back up from Norton 360?

by on March 21, 2010

Q: I rest my computer back to factory settings and then tried to retrieve my files baked up on Norton 360. I reinstalled Norton 360 and tried to run Restore, but my external hard drive did not appear. The URL and CD options were there – but not my external HD. I ran a back up on Norton 360 to my HD to see if that would give access to my HD. It did – but only to the bach up I had just done. How do I restore my original back up from Norton 360? The back up files are all in binary. I can’t drag and drop any files – even my contacts and favorites.

Norton 360 is a one stop shop for computer protection

by on March 4, 2010

Q: I had both Norton and Webroot Spy sweeper but then they both expired. When I renewed Norton I got the more expensive 360 version and now I am wondering if I still need Webroot.

A: You do not need Webroot if you are running Norton 360. Running Webroot while running Norton 360 will actually slow your computer down because both Norton 360 and Webroot will be checking every single file you touch to see if it is a virus or spyware. This means your computer is doing twice as much work protecting you as it needs to and that takes resources away from other taks you might be asking it to work on like browsing the Internet or checking email.
