Is the data from those emails saved on my computer in a form that I could recover?

Is it possible to undelete a file that was deleted a year ago?

by on August 6, 2012

Q: My wife made me delete a certain video off of our computer over a year ago, now she is gone and I want to recover the video. I have heard there is no such thing as actually deleting everything from your PC, just moving things around – that being said, is there any way I can recover this video even though it has been so long? I promise to share if I find it!

How can I recover data from an external hard drive?

by on September 20, 2011

Q: Are there any “How To” instructions to recover data from an external HD.
I work for a church ‘s Television Ministry and one of our 2TB external became defective.
We stored a lot of important video footage on it, and it became defective before we had a chance to back it up.
I received quotes from professionals to recover the data, but we cannot afford the fee of $500 or $1200.
Is there something I can try in-house to recover the data?
Thank you for your help in advance!

How do I recover my data after my motherboard failed?

by on May 26, 2011

Q: Want to recover data after a motherboard failed on a Vista PC to a new windows 7 machine. Prior to the Vista machine failure, the Vista-included-auto-backup had written on schedule to a separate internal SATA hard drive, (exclusively used for the Vista backup), that stored the data as a series of zipped files. What steps would I follow to retrieve the backup data from that internal drive from the dead Vista PC onto a new PC running 7. Also any way I can recover desktop files and folders from the healthy C drive in the old Vista machine? Thank you wise ones!!

Is it possible to get data off a laptop hard drive that has failed?

by on May 20, 2010

Q: I am wondering if there is a way of getting data / information off of hard drives that have crashed. I have had the misfortune when loading the service pack for Windows on two different laptops and the same result was for the hard drive to fail.

The laptops were an HP and a Toshiba. I have boxed the HP up and not looked at it for a while and bought a new hard drive for the Toshiba and just got on with things. I was wondering as I have data on these hard drives I have not got stored any where else is there any way of getting the info off and if so how do you do it? I have access to a desktop if that helps.

Can I get data off the hard drive of a laptop that had the video card fail?

by on January 8, 2010

Q: I have an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop and one day it beeped at me three times and showed me a black screen then eventually shut off. After further research we found out this means that your video card is done!

The laptop makes one long beep and two short ones now. The problem and question is: since i had game files on my second hard drive that I want and need, these were hard to find down loadable content, is it retrievable?

The Acer Aspire was a running Vista and the new laptop is running Windows 7 so if I were to get these old files and put them in my new laptop would there be a problem?

In order for me to run this game I had to use the compatibility wizard on Vista so is this game going to run on windows 7?
