How come my Denon AVR2113 Amp is over heating with my Sony satilite suround sound speakers?

by on January 19, 2013

Q: Hi
Just brought a Denon AVR2113 Amp 6-16ohm 95-125 output. connected it to my wharfdale 8×4 diamond┬áseries┬áspeakers and sony satilite suround sound speakers all good for a miniute then the tweeders blew up in the wharfdales so i dissconnected them and played on after about an hour the amp cut out on protect mode and was hot i was only running at half volume (not that loud) there was no clipping sounded good. wharfdales are 6ohm impedance but measure with a ohm meter and i get 3.8 ohms my friend has the exact same speakers and his are also 3.8ohms. Is my new amp a miss match with the speakers? are my speakers faulty? do i have an out of the box faulty amp? please any help here would be good cheers.

Would I be able to set a program to play through my headphones and another program to run through my speakers?

by on May 29, 2012

Q: Would I be able to set a program to play through my headphones and another program to run through my speakers?

I know with having one sound card this probably isn’t possible, but thought it would be worth an ask.

Would I not be to (using some form of external audio splitter) be able to use my headphones as the right-ear output, and speakers as left-ear output? just a theory…

Can a laptop be damaged by spring clip mounts?

by on April 24, 2012

Q: I am in the process of designing a set of laptop mountable speakers. I am proposing to use a spring clip mechanism to mount the speakers to each side of the laptop. These type of speakers with a similar mounting mechanism have been created before. Is there any history of laptop screen being damaged by the spring clip mounting of speakers or any other mountable product including LED lights?

Is there anyway to connect my logitech PC speakers to my xbox 360?

by on November 26, 2011

Q: So I’m wondering if someone can help me. I connected my xbox 360 to my hp 2311x monitor and it has no speakers so is there a way to use my own logitech pc speakers by using the spdif connection on the back of the xbox 360? Is there anything like a spdif to 3.5mm female adapter or something?

What are good replacement speakers for my 4 year old Z-5500 computer speakers?

by on July 20, 2011

Q: So about 4 years ago I purchased my aging Z-5500 computer speaker system. After me blasting my music for 4 years, they are beginning to deteriorate in sound quality and whatnot. I’m wondering how far technology has come since I got these and what would be the next logical upgrade from what I have; I got the speakers for $200 and would like to spend around that for what I get next. That being said, I will use the speakers to hook up to my computer so I can use them for games and music, primarily music.
