Q: I have a six year old desktop with an AMD Athalon(tm) xp 2000+and 2 256MB DDR RAM. It’s begun giving me problems like loose RAM, Heat sink and fan knocking off.
Should I just junk it and buy a new one or try and upgrade? My only usage is email, web browsing, online games and a little bit of MS office at times.

Q: I have two desktops (Compaq Presario SR1410NX and Compaq Presario SR1050N)Â that I could choose from to upgrade and I am wondering which one I should upgrade.
A: There comes a point in every computers life where the cost of upgrades wont get you the performance you could get if you spent the same money on a new computer. In the case of these two computers it would be a better idea to spend the money you would have spent on the upgrades on a new machine and you will easily get 5 to 10 times the performance out of the new machine than you would out of the upgrades.
Read Question HereQ: When installing program updates for programs like iTunes, does the size of the updates build on top of the disk space already used by the program or does it reuse the disk space already in use?
A: Every program update works different. iTunes, for example, has you download a new iTunes and it actually replaces the old version so you don’t need to do any deleting yourself. Some program similar to this will actually uninstall the previous version during the install process. Read the rest of this entry »

We need to change the config.sys (config.nt in XP) to change the files= from files=40 to files=128 and edit the himem.sys settings. The program errors out – stating not enough memory. We can’t seem to find where to properly set these changes in the Vista machine. Any suggestions?
