How come I get a system error when trying to install Opera on my computer?

by Guest Geek on July 15, 2009

Q: Every time I try to install Opera browser on my PC it gets to the last step (Registering) and then goes backwards and says there was a system error and it was not installed. Any ideas? I am running Windows Vista Home Premium.

How to get to myspace when IE freezes

by Guest Geek on June 3, 2009

Q: I have tried to access my account on myspace but when I login my browser freezes. I wait and nothing happens. I refresh and nothing happens. Here’s the kicker. I eventually get a message that says “window IE not responding”. I can’t do anything and then IE just crashes.

My wife and I can access the account from her PC but not mine and we have no idea why? I can access any other site with no problem from my computer.

A: Sometimes it is useful to have another web browser installed on your computer incase you run into a situation like this. We highly suggest you look into installing FireFox on your system and try accessing myspace that way.

We realize this does not solve your problem in relation to getting IE to work on myspace but it will let you visit the site. To actually get IE working again you will probably need to clear out your cache, defrag your computer, and run other system maintenance. It is not guaranteed that it will fix your problem though because it is possible it is something as simple as a plugin you have installed causing the problem when visiting the site.

We suggest you just play it safe and always have two browsers installed on your computer incase something funky like this happens.

How do I remove a vertical taskbar that has attached itself to my web browser?

by Guest Geek on May 21, 2009

Q: A vertical task bar has attached itself to a friend’s browser. It is on the right. It covers his scroll down slider and his mouse has no effect on it. There is a black icon of a bug that covers the X that closes it out. The techs at Norton say it’s not a virus or an infection but they could not remotely remove it. Rebooting doesn’t affect it. It doesn’t seem to do anything but be annoying. Any ideas?

Print a Word document from your browser

by matt on March 19, 2009

Q: I am using web-based software for my company and they have created personalized forms and documents that I need. Most of these are created PDF or word documents. I don’t have any problems opening or using the PDF, but after I’ve opened the word documents, there is no toolbar with options to print, etc. The web company says it’s probably a browser issue, which they can’t address. I use Internet Explorer (IE) and I’m not very computer savvy, so any help would be appreciated.

A: The first thing you can do is try CTRL + P. This will bring up the print dialog box in your web browser and will allow you to print anything that is showing in the web browser.

The other thing you can do, in Internet Explorer, is to go to the upper-right corner and single left-clicking on the tools button. Then put a checkmark next to the Menu Bar option. This will get the Menu to appear that has the print button on it so you can print from there.

What Web Browser Is Better Firefox Or Opera

by avatar on January 11, 2008

Q: Which is web browser is better Firefox or Opera?

A: Opera and Firefox are comparable in most ways. The difference is that Opera comes with all of the features already installed and is more streamlined. Firefox is bare bones when first installed but it has a huge amount of extensions that you can download and is fully customizable. So if you are into the advanced features of a web browser the amount of customizable options available to you via Firefox make it the better browser.
