How come Windows 7 says updates were successful but then asks me to install updates again?

by on June 28, 2013

Q: How come Windows 7 says updates were successful but then asks me to install updates again?

1) Windows 7 will not install updates, upon reboot it says installs were successful but then it prompts to install again on by shutting down.

2) Locks up at times and will not open programs or menu’s.

3) Programs on Disk (Adobe) or downloaded online (Dropbox) will abort and roll back installs.

This all started about 2 weeks ago. Custom built PC has been working for 4 years. Has already been wiped and OS installed from scratch twice in last two weeks with same results.

by on June 10, 2013

Q: I’m running double Radeon HD 7900 graphics cards on an Alienware Aurora RX4. W7 OS. I’m having issues with slower running games showing horrid graphics, flashing and sometimes even crashing the whole thing. I read something before about how the GC is refreshing the screen too much and it eventually overloads but does anyone know how to fix this issue?

How come my home built machine will not come out of sleep mode correctly?

by on May 20, 2013

Q: I have built my own new PC, and have installed Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. When the PC goes into “sleep” mode and I jostle my mouse for the machine to re-start/reboot, the screen comes up with only my wallpaper, i.e. no Icons and no Task Bar. Does anyone have a clear and intelligent explanation for what it is I either may do or need to do to correct this anomaly?

Can you turn off your Windows 7 computer by right clicking the start button and selecting Turn off?

by on May 15, 2013

Q: Instead of clicking the shut down button at that bottom of the start menu, can you turn off your computer by right-clicking the start button and then clicking Turn off on the shortcut menu. This is using a Windows 7 operating system.
