How come my computer running Windows Vista continuously reboots to a blue screen?

by plato9 on January 5, 2010

Q: I have windows vista and all of a sudden a few days ago my system continuously reboots with blue screen error message and then shuts down, reboots again etc etc.

I stopped the rebooting to read the error message and got – STOP: Ox0000008E (OxC0000005, Ox81CBF164, Ox9642A7FC, Ox0000000)

I have tried looking up info on the net, but am really not technical and finding the suggestions really hard to understand. I have read that you need to check drivers, BIOS etc, but have no idea how to do this exactly – could someone please instruct me in layman’s terms how to go about this? I tried system restore, but it says that there are no restore points to revert to. I do not have a CD – the computer did not come with one.

Any help would be great!

Q: I had an Acer Asprie running Windows Vista and the applications on it were always stopping/hanging. I was told that I should upgrade to Windows 7 and that would solve the problem but it has not. Can I boot off of my recovery drive some how from 32 bit vista into a 64 bit recovery drive?

by digitalme on November 3, 2009

Q: Ok I have messed up big time. I need help! I was running Windows Vista 64 bit on a Dell studio 1535. I had created a partition off my C drive so I could install Windows 7 64bit. I had set it up to duel boot and everything was fine until I decided to stick with only windows 7.

Not thinking I formatted my C drive and lost my boot files so it wouldn’t load anything. Now all I have to load up is vista 32bit. So when installed runs fine, but cant do any thing really. Can I boot off of my recovery drive some how from 32 bit vista into a 64 bit recovery drive?
