Q: I am running Windows Vista. Over the last couple of days I have found things disappearing from my laptop. Most of the contents of my documents has disappeared. I have done a system restore set to two days prior. It didn’t help. How do I retrieve my documents?
Q: I have a HP pavilion notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium,The sound vanished suddenly a month ago.In the task bar tray Speaker icon shows red X,above that is”No Audio Output Device is installed”. I have tried everything that a Microsoft rep has suggested to no avail.After a many emails back and forth to Microsoft they sent me a disc to do an “In Place Upgrade”,This took all day to do and accomplished nothing,I still have no sound. I continue to try recovery manager and a few times recovered sound for a few minutes and then it vanished again.Do you have any other remedies?
Q: i need to uninstall and reinstall windows vista for my acer aspire 5570z. There has been a discontinuation of that type of disc for me to do that and i cannot get into the software to do it myself without the disc. I think my version of windows vista home premium is going bad, and i cannot afford to buy a new one. What do i do?
Q: I have an Acer Aspire Desktop, I recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7, now my computer gives me an error on startup that reads
Port 01: (error about not finding anything)
Port 02: (same)
then it states system disk error.
CMOS cannot locate the Hard Drive or the DVD Player, and when I unplug one or the other from the mother board it will locate the drive then the drive disappears again…I am at a loss as to what to do, I have replaced the CMOS battery and looked on the optical drive and the hard trive to see how the jumpers are set, and there are no jumpers or instructions on how to set one to slave or the other to master.
Q: Basically I’m having problems with using pictures for my desktop background. My Size is 1280 by 800, so i select a 1280 by 800 picture to use, yet it stretches it and makes the pictures resolution terrible? I’m using vista, and don’t know how to make the picture fit and be a good quality?
Q: On my laptop i have 2 drives in my Computer, one of them Named ‘Vista (C:) and the other ‘Data (E:)
So far i have only used the vista drive and i was wondering if by clogging up that drive with everything, will it slow vista down?
Also i would like to know how can i move all my Data from the C drive to my E drive?

Q: my son’s 250 gig hard drive toshiba satellite 32 bit vista is frozen at “installing update 3 of 3, 50% done.” It’s a known issue. Vista reboot/repair cd with F12 does not help.
Ubuntu working from cd, I am about to install on the unit.
The Ubuntu setup is recommending partition like this—–
148 for vista and 100 for ubuntu. Is that good?
I am tempted to let it wipe the vista since it may be irreparable; but—

Q: How do I file share from windows 7 to vista? I have turned on file sharing and made sure all my folders are shared with everyone on my network. I can send files from vista to win 7 but not the other way around. Please help me fix this :/
